DayQuest holds information about children, families and the people who care for them. This page says what we collect, where it lives, and every company that handles it on our behalf.
1. Information we collect
DayQuest collects information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, childcare centre details, and the child information a centre needs to care for a child: for example date of birth, allergies, emergency contacts, attendance, daily reports and incident reports.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, process transactions, send communications, and ensure the safety and security of children in care.
3. Where it's stored and how it's protected
Your data is stored in the United States (Oregon) with Supabase. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access rules in the database mean each centre can only see its own records. A child's information is visible only to that centre's staff and to the parents or guardians linked to the child. We handle personal information in line with PIPEDA.
4. Companies that handle data for us
- Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in.
- Vercel: hosts the website and app, and counts page views without cookies.
- Stripe: takes card payments. Card numbers go straight to Stripe; DayQuest never sees or stores them.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Sentry: receives error reports when something breaks, so we can fix it.
- Microsoft Clarity: records how people use our pages. Inside the signed-in app, all text is masked in these recordings, so names and details about children and families are never captured.
- Anthropic: when a centre imports a spreadsheet, an AI model matches its columns to DayQuest fields. It receives the column headings and the kind of value in each column (a date, an email), not the values themselves.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
We never sell personal information, and we never share children's information for marketing.
5. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@dayquest.ca.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You may also request a copy of all data we hold about you.
7. Contact us
